Brad Vile makes both his Levoy Theatre and Off Broad Street Players debut in The Who’s Tommy.

Having toured the country and performed in several regional theatres, some past credits include  Huck Finn in the National Tour of Tom Sawyer, Mark in Altar Boyz at American Stage, Jamie in The Last Five Years at the Roxy Regional Theatre, and The Cat in Seussical the Musical with the Ocean City Pops. His past on-stage experience even spans to roles like Nick in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf and the title role in Macbeth. In 2010 he appeared in the NYC staging of Wildcat starring Luba Mason, Robert Cuccioli, and Beth Fowler.

Now a router for Waste Management, he currently resides in Trenton, NJ with his husband, Trevor. Brad is excited to finally be able to take the stage along side Holly Knapp, playing the role of “Mrs. Walker” in the production opening Friday, February 10th.

Brad remembers his first experiences listening to The Who’s Tommy very fondly. He shares, “I remember first listening to the album in my car one summer while living in Virginia.  I also remember sitting in a parking lot for over half an hour because I couldn’t bring myself to turn off the stereo.”

He says, “The score to [The Who’s] Tommy is incredibly unique and deeply resonates with nearly everyone who experiences it.  This music has an energy that can awaken your soul.”

However, the role of Tommy brings its own challenges. Brad shares, “Tommy is a difficult character to dissect.  But at the root of it, I believe that he needs to be completely human.  He has experienced other worlds in his living dreams, existed outside of his body for the majority of his childhood, and has possibly touched Divinity.  But he is still human.  He may have experienced emotions and sensations that are beyond our imaginations, but at the end of the day he is still a young man in need of his family”

You will not want to miss Brad and his onstage cohorts in OBSP’s truly transformative production of The Who’s Tommy. Guided under the leadership of OBSP co-artistic director, Bryan Pitt, this show is a sensory rock experience like no other.

OBSP’s stellar new production of The Who’s Tommy, sweeps onto the Levoy’s stage on February 10 and runs through February 19.
