Mikaela Simon to play Mersister in the Little Mermaid

Mikaela Simon hails from Shiloh and is thrilled to be playing a mersister. She is particularly excited about this role since it has always been her dream to be a mermaid. Mikaela is a Theatre Arts Major at Drew University, and is no stranger to the Levoy Stage. A member of Off Broad Street Players for over a decade, she has previously been seen in Shrek the Musical, Grease, and Fiddler, to name a few. She has also been seen on both the Cumberland Regional High School and Cumberland Players stages. In her free time, Mikaela enjoys doodling, writing poetry, and watching Netflix Original Series with her dog, Jasmine.
This production of The Little Mermaid is based on the Disney film of the same name. Fans of the movie will recall with fondness the tale of Ariel, an adventurous young mermaid who’s got a thing for disobeying the rules and following her heart. Ariel’s fascination with the human world often leads her to the sea surface, a zone that’s designated as “off-limits” by her father Triton, the sea king. One day while sneaking to the surface, Ariel witnesses a shipwreck and rescues Prince Eric, with whom she become instantly smitten. Furious at Triton’s inability to understand her love for the prince, Ariel runs away and strikes a deal with Ursula, Triton’s evil witch of a sister, to experience the life she dreams of on land.
