The Jersey Shore Pops:
The Jersey Shore Pops (JSP) is a professional orchestra that performs classical and popular music concerts with international guest artists. JSP also educates adults, young people, and special populations throughout southern New Jersey in the beauty and power of classical music. Incorporated in the state of New Jersey in 2006 as Peacemaker Productions, JSP is a tax‑exempt 501 (c) (3) organization and adopted its current name in 2009.
Jersey Shore Pops is comprised of 25 New Jersey based professional musicians. The orchestra uniquely reaches out to the community by combining popular and classical music concerts to appeal to a larger demographic base. By attempting to reach out constantly to new audiences and younger audiences, Jersey Shore Pops exposes audiences to excellent music with a fantastic professional orchestra.
The Jersey Shore Pops is the orchestra‑in residence at The Middle Township Performing Arts Center located in Middle Township, New Jersey. The orchestra provides the county of Cape May with a Summer Concert Series and performs 8‑10 concerts each year in the county.
The Jersey Shore Pops, though an alliance with The Atlantic Youth Orchestra, is providing an opportunity for young musicians to perform in a professional environment. The JSP orchestra offers master class opportunities for students of the AYO throughout the year with their “SIDE BY SIDE” educational program. This program provides motivation for the students as well as preparing them for the rigors and demands of performing with a professional organization. They also offer music students free admission to all concerts to expose them to professional classical concerts.
The mission of The Jersey Shore Pops orchestra is to provide the community with quality classical and popular concerts at an affordable price. In addition, a major goal is to also provide an opportunity for local New Jersey musicians to perform at quality performing arts centers in South Jersey.
