‘It’s a MasterPeach!’- Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr. at the Levoy Theatre
MILLVILLE, N.J. – The 2019 Off Broad Street Players’ season of Broadway at the beautiful, majestic Levoy Theatre in downtown Millville continues with their all-youth production of the Roald Dahl classic James and The Giant Peach, Jr.!
The musical runs from March 29, 2019 – March 31, 2019.
Presented by the Levoy Theatre’s resident theatre company, the Off Broad Street Players, Roald Dahl’s James and The Giant Peach, Jr. delights audiences of all ages with its quirky charm. Based on the beloved Roald Dahl story, this imaginative musical makes its Levoy debut starring a cast of local youth from across Southern New Jersey.
The Levoy Theatre’s Education Director Tyler Daddario returns as director leading a “remarkulous” cast and creative team. The dynamic cast of 47 local youth ages 7 to 18 take on the iconic, whimsical characters. Leading the cast on this tremendous adventure are Schalick High School Senior Gian Verderose as the mysterious ‘Ladahlord’ and newcomer Drew Terista as the titular James.
The show features a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony Award-winning team of Pasek and Paul (Dear Evan Hansen & The Greatest Showman) and book by Timothy Allen McDonald. James and The Giant Peach, Jr. is presented through special arrangement by Music Theatre International (MTI) with all authorized performance materials also supplied by MTI.
The production team includes assistant direction by Lauren Fazenbaker, musical direction by Aimee Ferenz, and choreography by Katie Kiessling. Production team also includes high school students Jared DeShields of Millville Senior High School as the Student Director and Lindsay Nakai from Gloucester County Institute of Technology as Assistant Choreographer.
James and The Giant Peach, Jr. will feature stage management by Domonic Barnes, scenic design by Mary Boner, set fabrication/construction by Wayne Wriggins, John Daddario, and Tom Kiessling, costume design by Shaun Laurencio, sound design by Sean Pedrick, properties management by Cara May, lighting design by Tyler Daddario, hair/make-up design by John Rattacasa, and production management by Jason Smith.
