Cast Spotlight – “Sister Act” – Lauren Fazenbaker

In the next installment of our “Cast Spotlight” series, we are thrilled to introduce the actress who will be taking on role of Sister Mary Patrick in the Off Broad Street Players’ production of Sister Act!

Lauren Fazenbaker, of Bridgeton is returning to the Off Broad Street Players after a six year hiatus. She works for Source4Teachers as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional. Lauren’s previous OBSP credits include Liesl in The Sound of Music, and ensemble in The Music Man and Hairspray to name a few. She is also very involved with the theatre department at Cumberland County College and was most recently seen as Christmas Eve in Avenue Q and Mrs. Arable in Charlotte’s Web.

She shares that the character of Sister Mary Patrick, made famous in the film Sister Act by Kathy Najimy, is “a little more bubbly and naive, overly excitable, version of” herself. The part is a dream role of her’s. She could not be more excited to be playing the role in this production.

Of all the fabulous musical numbers featured in the production, Lauren professes that her favorite number is “Sunday Morning Fever! It is such high energy and such a fun number to be in!”

She shares, “The show delivers an important core message that needs to be shared in our current day and age… I love the message of sisterhood and friendship. Because in the end, that’s all that we’ve got!”
