Fall 2023 Classes

Teen/Adult Stage Combat

Type class: Stage Combat

Ages: 13-Adult Saturday: 11:00 am – 11:55 am $165

In the Teen/Adult Stage Combat class, we will learn the foundations of Unarmed Stage Combat and how to elevate the scene work to effectively “Act the Fight”. Unarmed Stage Combat is the most utilized form of Stage Combat for theatrical productions of any size and shape. From the big fight scenes like the wrestling scene in As You Like It by William Shakespeare to the slaps and falls in The Crucible by Arther Miller. From big dramatic highly produced moments like the big rumble in Newsies, to unusual moments like the dinner table scene between Helen and Annie in The Miracle Worker. When conflict in a script reaches the point of becoming physical, every actor should know how to incorporate their knowledge of stage combat to keep themselves safe and elevate their performance to give the audience the best show possible. This class can help give you the edge no matter where you are performing!
