Behind a patch of pine trees, at the end of a driveway of crushed shells, stands a ramshackle red building with multiple roofs and styles of windows.
Surrounding the building are gardens more overgrown than manicured, yet the identity of every plant is known. The gardens are patrolled by a platoon of once-stray cats who have found a warm home. The cats keep a close eye on a neighbor’s guinea hens, who prefer their yard to their own. This is the Barn Studio of Art in Millville. The Art Spirit lives here. – Donna Andersen, artBeat magazine, 2003 ArtC’s original and acclaimed documentary about Millville’s innovative and talented artist and teacher Pat Witt and her Barn Studio of Art has been enjoyed by tens of thousands the last twelve years. This 2018 re-edited version will appeal to those who saw the original and those non-Barnies interested in learning more about this fascinating woman and her school of art. She is the Art Spirit. Please join us on October 27, 2024 for a screening of this award winning documentary as well as the launch of a beautiful book about Pat’s life, art and her beloved Barn Studio of Art.
