Christopher Martinez hails from Vineland and he works as a manager in retail. Chris is eager to play the role of the slimy, sneaky, and cunning eel named Flotsam, who is one of Ursula’s evil henchmen. In his spare time he works on earning his bachelor’s degree at Rowan University and becoming an Elementary Special Education teacher. On the side he also strives to make his dream of becoming an actor come true. This is Chris’s first Off Broad Street Players production, but is excited to start off with a splash. Chris has also been seen in other productions from Vineland High School’s Cap’n Dagger Club such as the Wedding Sing and Beauty and the Beast. In addition, he has performed in Vineland High School’s theater class shows such as Hairspray, Romeo and Juliet, Avenue Q, and many more.
This production of The Little Mermaid is based on the Disney film of the same name. Fans of the movie may remember Flotsam the eel as one of Ursula’s lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.
