Mike Grubb is performing as Jetsam in Off Broad Street Players’ production of The Little Mermaid. Mike is currently a theater major at Rowan University. Just like the characters in The Little Mermaid, he is an expert swimmer: he is a member of Rowan’s dive team and currently works as a dive coach at Downs Farms Swim Club. Mike’s hobbies include golfing, running, and playing guitar and piano. He will be making his Off Broad Street Players debut in this production and could not ask for a better show to start off with. Mike was last seen in Haddonfield Plays and Players production of Aida and Rowan University’s productions of Schoolgirl Figure and Crave.
This production of The Little Mermaid is based on the Disney film of the same name. Fans of the movie may remember Jetsam the eel as one of Ursula’s lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.
Performances will be held at the Levoy Theatre on Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, August 7 at 3 p.m.; Thursday, August 11 at 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday August 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, August 14 at 3 p.m. You can buy tickets online at www.levoy.net or in person at the box office.
