Staging the Story: The Cabaret Collective

Full Mainstage Production

Designed for experienced musical theatre performers, this intensive offers students the opportunity to develop advanced performance skills in a collaborative and creative environment. Students will strengthen ensemble singing, explore solo performance, and study musical theatre repertoire spanning a variety of eras and styles. The class will culminate in a fully staged devised cabaret performance that showcases each student's artistry, versatility, and growth. Enrollment is limited to 15 students to ensure individualized coaching and a high-quality ensemble experience.

Prerequisites: Previous musical theatre experience is required. Admission is by audition only.

AUDITIONS: Auditions will be September 20th at the Levoy Arts and Education Center. Please sign up for an audition slot ahead of time. Please prepare a one-minute cut of a Golden Age Musical (1940s-1960s ) AND a one-minute cut of a contemporary musical theatre song. Songs should contrast in style and show off what you do best! Please bring instrumental tracks (no words on the track) that are cut to your one minute ahead of time. Bluetooth and aux cord capabilities will be provided. Caitlin Geisser is the Artistic Director and founder of Triple Threat Workshop, and the Artistic Director of the Levoy Arts and Education Center. She has spent her entire life onstage, and the last thirteen years directing and teaching. She has her BFA in Musical Theatre from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and is also a proud graduate of the Southern New Jersey Academy of the Arts. Working across the South Jersey area, Caitlin also currently serves as a resident guest teaching artist for the Drama Department at GCIT and director of the Wildwood Catholic Academy Theatre Program.

Ally Chappius is a graduate of Vineland High School and earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Westminster Choir College in 2016. She has been teaching K-8 general music at Weymouth Township School since 2020 and has taught private voice lessons at Bonilla Vocal Academy for the past few years. Ally also works on some productions as music director with Triple Threat Workshop and at the Levoy Theatre. She has worked with hundreds of students across the South Jersey performing arts scene over the years, helping them to sing and perform to the best of their abilities. Ally currently resides in Vineland with her husband, Russ, and two sons, Hudson and Cooper. She is extremely grateful to Caitlin and the Levoy for this opportunity to help the arts continue to flourish in South Jersey!
