Learning at The Levoy

With courses geared towards Children and Adults of all ages and skill levels, “Learning at The Levoy” gives you the chance to learn from professional theatre artists in a state-of-the-art facility. These classes, meeting once a week for seven weeks, provide the perfect opportunity to learn more about theatre both on and off stage with topics ranging from Auditioning to Stage Make-Up! Whether you consider yourself a theatre artist or a theatre enthusiast, there is a course for everyone. YOUTH (Ages 7-13)

Stage Basics | Carmen Delia-Bryant | Thursdays 6:30pm-8:00pm | $140

There is so much that goes into putting on a live theatrical production! Perfect for the newcomer to theatre, Stage Basics will walk you from auditions, to rehearsals, to the final curtain call. Learn helpful performance tips and insider information about dancing, singing, and acting on stage! Classes begin April 18th, 2019 and run until June 6th, 2019. Auditions 101 | Professional Guest Artists | Saturdays 10:00am-11:30am | $140

Before you ever set foot onto the stage, you must first step foot into the audition room. This class will help you learn how to choose a song, build your resume, and handle the audition room for six weeks, then give you a chance on week seven to try your new audition skills in a mock audition (and get valuable feedback!). These tips and tricks will help you feel confident, prepared, and ready to nail your next audition! Classes begin April 13th, 2019 and run until June 1st, 2019. ADULT (Ages 14 and up)

Stage Make-up and Design | John Rattacasa | Tuesdays 8:00pm-9:30pm | $140

Embrace your creative side and transform yourself into someone new each week with this hands on course! You will learn to master a range of theatrical looks from the basic to the extraordinary, including standard stage make-up, old age, and SFX.

Please note students will be responsible for purchasing their own

Musical Theatre Styles & Genres| Walter Webster | Thursdays 6:30pm-8:00pm | $140

Have you always wanted to tackle that Rodgers and Hammerstein song you love? Or do you have a rock song that you’ve always dreamed of singing but weren’t sure how? Take a walk through musical theatre history with Walter, and learn how to nail each of these styles. Through vocal technique and historical study, come to better understand the vast landscape of musical theatre’s cannon. Classes begin April 18th, 2019 and run until June 13th, 2019. Acting | Elisabeth Campbell | Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm | $140

In this introductory course, students will explore the foundations and elements of theatre.  The course will begin with some improvisational techniques in order to stimulate and develop imagination, spontaneity, creative risk-taking, responsiveness, ensemble skills, and problem solving.  The ultimate goal of the course is to get students comfortable with performing truthfully and in the moment.  The course will progress with more character development and exploration of various acting techniques associated with some of the great acting teachers (Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner, etc.) until students are ready to perform a short scene. Classes begin April 23rd, 2019 and run until June 4th, 2019. Auditioning | Professional Guest Artists | Saturdays 11:30am-12:30pm | $140

Do you always get nervous before an audition? Fear no more! This class will help you learn how to choose a song, build your resume, prepare sides, and work the audition room in six weeks, culminating in a final mock audition on week seven to showcase your newly harnessed skills and gain valuable feedback. From the first step into the audition room to leaving callbacks, this series will give you all the skills you need from six professional artists to rock your next audition! Classes begin April 13th, 2019 and run until June 1st, 2019.
